Bio
David Covington is a freelance actor, dancer, and producer. He has worked with such stars as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Ann Reinking, Angela Lansbury, Gregory Hines, Baayork Lee, Dein Perry, and Marvin Hamlisch, to name a few. Mr. Covington began his performance career tap dancing his way across the globe with the internationally acclaimed company of TAP DOGS. Other dance credits include Associate Choreographer and Soloist for Broadway's Greatest Showstoppers at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Associate Choreographer and Soloist for the Kennedy Center's 13th Annual Gala: A Salute to the 1940's Broadway Musical with the National Symphony Orchestra and hosted by Julie Andrews. His commitment to the preservation and promotion of the American art form of tap dance has led to the recent founding of his own tap company, MetroTAP, and youth company, Metropolitan Youth Tap Ensemble. Mr Covington has danced in numerous industrial events, including the 2002 Winter Olympics and has taught master classes across the US.

An Equity actor, Mr. Covington has performed in dozens of productions in the Washington DC metropolitan area, including performances at the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Ford's Theatre, Signature Theatre, The Landsburgh, Theatre J, Imagination Stage, Wayside Theatre, and Roundhouse Theatre. He recently finished the film Babylon Central to be released summer 2008.

Also, Mr. Covington's credits as a producer and manager include Associate Producer for the Department of Special Programming at the Kennedy Center, Coordinator for the Library of Congress Tap Dance Festival, and manager for the Folger Consort at the Folger Shakespeare Library. He is currently Director of the US Performing Arts Summer Workshops in Washington DC, an Associate Producer for Metropolitan Fine Arts Center in Alexandria, VA, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Performing Arts Alliance. Mr. Covington is a graduate of American University.
