Bio Pamela Christian, Voice Faculty. Pamela Christian is a professor of Voice and Speech in the Department of Theatre and Dance at UT Austin. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and loves working with students of all shapes, sizes, ages and levels of talent, including those who have never formally worked on their voice before. Outside of UT, "Dr. Pam" works professionally as a dialect coach for stage and film. She has recently coached actors for national companies such as Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Alley Theatre, Mutiny Films and Screen Gems. She has also been the voice teacher for university programs in South Africa, England, the Russian Federation, and South Korea. As an Equity actress, she has played leading roles in productions such as Dangerous Liaisons, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Madwoman of Chaillot, and Anne Sexton: The Excitable Gift (her own solo script). "I believe the voice is an integral part of the acting process. The clarity of an actor's work in performance is largely defined by their ability to use the voice as action."
