Congratulations to all of the performers for doing a great job! Experiencing the full impact of being a Broadway performer is indeed a great fulfillment in life. Kudos to Billy Elliot and his inspiration to the industry! :)

Actually--true artists as well as any person whose talents are significant and whose contributions are of enduring value are not subject to the 15 minute rule, The notion of 15 minutes is the security that we on the sidelines have when we see someone in the spotlight that has no business being there. It is our security because we know that no matter how annoying they are, they will be gone soon. Sarah palin and paris hilton come to mind. For those of you who are genuine, talented, and most importantly have depth, your work will endure.

Audio blogs are a great way to share information -- super idea! And how wonderful that you have added more schools to your list of colleges involved in US Performing Arts camps. A good idea continues to grow and meet needs ... you are certainly proving this!

Oh, Elliot! So, true, so true. If we could only be paid for "learning experiences" we'd all be rich. But then maybe we are. Maybe the richness is our learning. Lovely blog...keep it up.

Acting is the reality of doing. It's what you're doing that counts, it's the action they follow. Acting is re-acting. It's listening. It's feeling that connection to the other actors and in the moment, and hitting your marks.

Emotion is just the wake from the motorboat that's moving you across the lake of your scene, play, film, what have you, to whatever goal it is you're trying to achieve in the context of the show.

It is the reality of taking cold words off of a page and making them come to life.

That's all that technique tries to get at.

Hi Sarah, you might not remember me, but I was the kid from davidson who "asked you out."
anyway, i just wanted to say that I'm coming to see the mountain play on june 8th (I think)
oh, and if Elizabeth Burns tells you that I'm a creepy stalker DON'T BELIEVE HER! she's been trying to ruin my rep for years (and to tell you the truth, I think she's a little jeallous) anyway, see you there,
