It is our security because we know that no matter how annoying they are, they will be gone soon. Sarah palin and paris hilton come to mind. For those of you who are genuine, talented, and most importantly have depth, your work will endure. It's what you're doing that counts, it's the action they follow. Acting is re-acting. It's listening. It's feeling that connection to the other actors and in the moment, and hitting your marks. Emotion is just the wake from the motorboat that's moving you across the lake of your scene, play, film, what have you, to whatever goal it is you're trying to achieve in the context of the show. It is the reality of taking cold words off of a page and making them come to life. That's all that technique tries to get at. Acting is the reality of doing.
